Antique Double Glass Rod Towel Rack for Kitchen or Bathroom, in a Nickel plated frame with two wing screws for mounting onto a wash table sideboard or chest, from the 1900 to 1920s Founders Era to Art Déco Era A rare really good preserved towel rack. Usually the rack was mounted to "wash table" either onto a marble top plate or wooden top. The bowl with the water can was standing on the table while the towel rack was mounted on the side to the wash table. Such rods were more likely used in villas, mansions or hotels and "better houses", not in regular households The side holders are nickel plated (chrome-like). Of course chrome as we know today did not exist then. The wing screws still work very good. The rod would still today look excellent mounted to the side of a modern bathroom sink table. The measurements are: L 52 x H 6 x D 13 cm; L 20.5" x H 2.25" x D 5 Condition: The rack is used of course, yet with minor signs of age. The glass rods are still in very good condition, no cracks or chips. In general I would say that the rack is still in good to almost very good condition for the age. UK 18 to none-EU countries, incl.
